Pink Moon

Many of my subscribers love it when I softly sing Pink Moon to them. This beautiful song takes me to my warm fuzzy place too and I love sharing this with others through the medium of ASMR.

It reminds me of sitting in front of my window on a slow Sunday afternoon, feeling mature, comforted, content and present, with a cup of tea clasped in my two little hands.

Pink Moon is also the title of the third and final studio album by Nick Drake. This album is a mixture of hope and despair.

Parasite, which is my favourite song on the album, is hauntingly depressing if you listen to the lyrics, but the words are paired with a melody that doesn't match. The melody is like putting on a brave face and half a smile to cover the sadness inside. I feel this encapsulates Nick’s struggle with depression.

Nick suffered from depression and insomnia and I can’t help but think what little help there was for Nick in the 70s, apart from his creative outlet, but that didn’t save him. On the morning of 25th November 1974, he took his own life at the age of just 26.

Some claim it was accidental, however, the coroner stated it wasn’t.

He blossomed posthumously, he didn’t have much commercial success during his time. If only he knew how much he has inspired this small ASMR content creator who continues to share his beauty and sorrow with the ASMR community. Little did he know he'd bring comfort to so many.
