Is This the First Ever ASMR Advert?

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

Cadbury, the world famous confectionery company, is best known for their creative adverts, including THAT inspiring Dairy Milk advert featuring a gorilla playing the drums to Phil Collins - we thought we had seen everything, until now!

Cadbury has unbeknownst created a tingly, ASMR riddled advert - all the way back in 1964! The Drinking Chocolate Advert opens with the footsteps of a couple caught in the rain, rushing to get home to their 'hot chocolate drinking chocolate, hot chocolate, hot chocolate, drinking chocolate, drinking chocolate' softly whispered by a man who follows their footsteps with his whispers.

The faint sound of wind and rain make for a tingly atmospheric background as the couple suddenly pick up pace, their footsteps doubling in speed along with the whispers of ' hot chocolate drinking chocolate, hot chocolate, hot chocolate, drinking chocolate, drinking chocolate'.

They make it home and the shot cuts to a bubbly cup of hot chocolate; the voice over switches to the soothing voice of a well-spoken women who makes us feel all warm and tingly by saying 'the drink that is as warm as a mink' enunciating the letter K after the trigger words drink and mink.

We felt so many tingles listening to the advert, did you?
