Danny Docile ASMR: What Makes A Good ASMR Roleplay?

Danny Docile ASMR

Hi there, it’s Danny. For the past seven years I have made comedy ASMR on YouTube. I have been making ASMR videos since late 2012 and currently stand at over 3 million views.

My channel focuses on improvised comedy ASMR, unique roleplays and livestreams. Am I any good? Someone once left me a comment saying “nice”.

I absolutely love ASMR roleplays. Proper tingle addict, me. If it came in bags, I’d buy it from a street corner and shove it into my face whilst screaming.

So what makes a good ASMR roleplay, Danny? Great question, I’m glad you asked....

A lot of people think there is a specific definition or dimension an ASMR roleplay must take, but in reality, the only rule you have to follow is that you should attempt to be softly spoken or whisper.

The situation you are creating doesn’t have to be one that is relaxing in real life, the best roleplays are often scenarios that you would not expect to be relaxing and then have ASMR aspects layered over them. There are unintentional ASMR videos out there of actual doctors, just talking and going about their daily not-so-relaxing business that has the unintentional ASMR community going absolutely spare.

Roleplays are small performances. You’re putting on a solo performance that aims to both relax and entertain.

You can do anything in a relaxing way, so if you have the creative license, why only do things that are already relaxing? However, an ASMR video titled ‘I whisper to you whilst I hurt animals with a pneumatic drill’ probably won’t sell very well, so here are a few things to think about when producing an ASMR roleplay:

· Be original or produce an original take on a classic

· Straight to static camera POV style is good, but does it have to be in that format?

· Can it be something different? Can it have cuts, locations?

· Don’t be afraid to try new things and break convention

· Experiment, you never know what you might find

· Does your roleplay incorporate triggers? Are they random or are they part of the narrative?

· It’s always cooler when you do it naturally and the video doesn’t feel forced.

Thanks Danny – that’s really useful to know. Find out more at www.dannydocile.com or watch his hilarious roleplays below…
