Created by the advertising agency 72andSunny Amsterdam, to promote Lynx’s shower and shave foam range, the three cleverly crafted videos titled ‘legs, balls and chest’ promote male grooming in the 21st century in the style of 'shavetorials'.
‘Feel as smooth as it sounds’ is the catchy tagline for this series which targets the male demographic who love to relax to ASMR.
Is the sound quality up-to-scratch? 100%! The satisfying shaving foam sounds, amongst other triggers, are expertly captured by the sound design company Stainless Sound.
Matthew, the cheeky presenter, uses ASMR in a light-hearted tone, he even explores the uncharted territory of dolphin sounds – you can be the judge on whether that’s relaxing!
The campaign captures the essence of ASMR through the trigger sounds, but what we really love about the videos is the humour – ASMR videos tend to be quite serious so this is a refreshing angle to take.
This down to earth series appeals to younger men who are exploring their grooming styles. It’s refreshing to see a man people can relate to, instead of airbrushed, filtered male models and this inclusive way of marketing fits hand in hand with the ASMR community.
